Abstracts
Inspired by Tomma Abts's exhibition at the Serpentine gallery, I decided to explore her working method in my own way. Abts has no preconceptions when starting a painting, and she alternates carefully oil and acrylic. I studied her artworks and how she thinks in terms of energy of the lines, where they lead, and how they can add to the dynamism of a piece being constrained within a static compositional structure.

I brought this notion into my paintings, focusing on geometry and pattern, through the balancing act of shapes on lines of ‘energy’. Here, I contrasted the fluid, and at times, rough, nature of my prior work with clearly defined images and arcs/tangents, looking to achieve balance in my geometric pieces.
I channelled my art to raise funds for IntoUniversity, an educational charity. Summer and Winter were the two main pieces of a prolific art-a-thon, which raised over £500 in two weeks.

Since then, I created more abstract pieces, exploring various free-flowing designs, with a rich variety of colours and mixed media, such as acrylic and silver leaves.

I have been invited to participate in the Kensington and Chelsea Arts Week through Nanda Khiara's gallery.

I am presenting two pieces inspired by my Uruguayan and British background, Uruguay and New Horizons; all work will be auctioned and the proceedings donated to the NHS.
